I genuinely believe nerdism's insistence that story is a thing to be quantified, compartmentalized into tropes and trivia, to be literalized, has been utterly poisonous.

The gods in my universe are vague concepts more than anything - there's a god of stagnation that is also a god of self-reflection. The main form they take is a pool of completely still water.
I can share more examples if you'd like, but what do you wanna be the god of is my main question?
