I am legitimately concerned for our content once AI takes over YouTube.
Algorithms are already horrible. But hard to see, in the Year of Our Censor 2025, how a corporate age-guessing machine would not quitely begin to remove of access to information that actually protects kids, esp around "controversial" issues like sexual abuse, mental health and LGBTQ+ identity.
YouTube will begin using AI for age verification next week
If you have the YouTube viewing habits of a teenager — watch out.
