Bluesky didn't give me enough characters to write; very much open to discussion on this—but my current view is that I'd rather have the other half of the nation consist of formerly-ignorant-and-now-enlightened citizens than permanently-ignorant-and-leaning-into-the-identity citizens.

Genuine question, not meant to be combative—are they still an "ignorant" town if they've gained enough self-awareness to take the signs down? Would it be more fair to say "formerly ignorant" to acknowledge the change? I fear that permanent labels leave no room for growth. And we NEED them to grow.
