Our sister organisation ACTSA UK campaigns on this issue, about migrant Zimbabwean and other care workers being refused visas to the UK for their children despite having legal entitlement. See bit.ly/Allfamsmatter & actsa.org/campaigns/al... ACTSA Scotland has raised this with some Scottish MPs.

Important action by @unisontheunion.bsky.social and overseas care workers on #InternationalMigrantsDay. Even migrants mums who arrived before current restrictions have been denied visas for their children. Migrant workers are holding up our NHS - they deserve better!
📹📢 Yesterday, hundreds of overseas staff working in social care and the NHS travelled to Westminster to lobby MPs over plans to restrict visa rules for care workers.

💜✊ Today, on #InternationalMigrantsDay, we recognise the migrant workers whose voices were at the heart of that lobby.

Ani came to the UK in 2023 to work as a carer

But because she's a single mother, her children didn't get visas for almost two years, causing great pain. Many mums are still in this impossible situation

On #MigrantsDay, read Ani's story on @mumsnet.com

Rest in power Susie Figgis, a highly acclaimed casting director but more importantly one of the scores of Brits who worked underground to assist the undercover struggle for a non-racist, democratic South Africa. Condolences to Susie's friends and family.
RONNIE KASRILS: Susie Figgis was a revolutionary recruit and honorary South African

Workers already here are also leaving - including single mums whose children were never granted visas according to Women of Zimbabwe. Migrants must be treated better!

We’ll be at the meeting to raise our concerns about this move enabling Anglo to evade accountability for the harms of its mining operations.
