Remember: Systems work for who they were designed to work for.
Do I know anyone who works as a school counselor or school psychologist in the Atlanta area who is willing to have a prospective student shadow them for a morning/afternoon/day??

Yesterday, I got to spend my morning and afternoon in a school and I just love being in classrooms 🥰

Saying we need AI because the kids are behind makes no sense to me.

If the kids can barely craft a prompt to enter into AI, let alone interpret the results…..

How is AI going to close the gaps??!!

At the risk of reading too much into Bluesky’s success at the moment, I do think it’s a signal that people don’t want to be surrounded by bots and manipulated algorithms

AI can only go so far. We want human connection.

#DisabilityTax

“The reality is that it is expensive to be disabled. Research shows that disabled people need at least 28% more income, at least $17,690, to achieve a standard of living similar to that of non-disabled people.”

I would even add: please shamelessly promote your work

One terrific thing I enjoyed on old Twitter was discovering new papers

Trust me, you will have an audience if you share your work on Bluesky
No need to apologize for promoting your work here.

Who better to tell us about it? Who knows it sooner or better?

Middle School educators: how does your school consider socioemotional learning for adolescents? Selfishly asking because part of my role is to develop advisory curriculum and community meeting programming!

I'm still reflecting on all the great discussions I heard yesterday. But this article immediately resonated with me. I've talked about brave spaces in my presentations, but accountable spaces is a better description of the spaces needed for critical conversations

Very proud of this publication.

Even prouder that we could teach adults how to respond to biased and ignorant behaviors that perpetuate alienation amongst groups of children and the adults who are responsible for them!

DM me if you’d like to check out the full article 🙂

I used Twitter to mainly build community with other Black graduate students and PhD students in 2017/2018 and I attribute so much of success to the community that upheld me.

I hope I can find an even broader community here to encompass all my interests and identities.

💡Every behavior is communication. Take a moment to ask, ‘What is this child trying to tell us?’ Understanding is the first step to supporting.💡
