I have believed since the Access Hollywood tape in 2016 that most powerful people in media think sexual abuse is just fine actually, a big hoot really, and don't understand why the rest of us care so much.

I think it's so important to share resources that CSA can and does happen anywhere, and most often it's someone trusted in the child's life that is responsible for it.
The fact that Tim Ballard is a 🍇ist is not at all surprising but kind of distracts from the fact that his cartoon Hollywood solution to the genuine problem of child sex abuse depends on the myth that most abusers are evil cartel kidnappers instead of people in the kids’ lives.

Hollywood IS corrupt, of course. Hollywood does protect abusers. But in my opinion, and in my experience, it is no more corrupt than any other major corporation or organization out there. Politics, religious organizations, academia, the fucking Boy Scouts.

I know a lot of people don’t want to hear this but one of several key reasons the Me Too movement was met with a successful counter revolution was because there ended up being a bipartisan elite consensus that this was getting too annoying and that our powerful men getting accused, well we like them
Contrary to popular belief and framing, the MeToo movement did not fundamentally shift the status quo of institutional empowerment and protection of predators. The widespread idea that it did has put victims at a further disadvantage when they come forward about institutional betrayal
