It would be so much easier to pretend that this stuff was all the work of evil conservative billionaires but unfortunately sometimes the monster is a lot closer to home.

The idea that "we're all in it together against the billionaires" is how groups like this thrive in our midst.

Nor did it ever totally end. DGR is a shell of its old self but there are still big "anti-cancel-culture" figures on the left who proudly support these people.

DGR is still out there recruiting at environmental demos, too.

I suppose a lot of folks are too young or too new to remember now (much of this went down 15-20 years ago) but this was, for years, one of the bigger battles in radical politics which tore whole scenes apart across Canada and the US.

Eventually we won, but it was a long, bitter fight.

There's a thousand places that occult stuff overlaps with the far-right as a movement and I'm all for exploring that (as many credible researchers and Satanists do).

It's a big leap from that to claiming this is Trump and his admin are personally Satanists tho.

Oh and for the record, this was CNN *yesterday*.

We've already been doing this for years with the "Trumpism is a cult" stuff. It was punchy, it was insulting, it played well, but it was never an accurate model of their movement. It just uplifted grifters and led people to totally miss important developments, like the simmering Groyper War.

LMAO I have a pretty big list of this guy's appearance with Tony Hall and friends and I'd totally missed this one.
