Somehow only just got around to watching this movie but boy am I glad I did. Beautiful, moving, and human to its very core.
A ★★★★★ review of Samsara (2011)
The reason we worship is to give thanks for the miracle of being alive, the miracle of being conscious of such miracles. Our gods are our thanking of the earth for giving birth to the miracle of life....

The Resistance is growing—our coalition has now reached 125,000 strong. The Trump administration will try to silence us, but they underestimate the power of the people. Together, we will bring balance back to our democracy.

We just want to say that we are in awe of all of you. You are the ones history will remember—a resistance rising against tyranny. From the moment Trump took office, laws have been broken left and right. We shouted from the rooftops, and it took relentless effort just to have our voices heard.

FEMA firings are set to increase tonight, even after Trump approved FEMA funding for Kentucky. He calls FEMA worthless but then utilizes it?

A top Social Security Administration official resigned after clashing with Musk staffers over access to sensitive personal records. They sought entry into an internal system containing Americans’ private data.

Thank you, Michelle, for resisting—and for your 30 years of service.

The Chiefs did so much better before they kowtowed to Trump.
Speaking of government waste, it costs taxpayers $18M+ for Trump to attend the Super Bowl.
Someone compared it to Hitler at the 1936 Olympics.
I guess that makes Kendrick Lamar Jesse Owens.

We are deeply concerned about the current state of our country. As civil servants, we are doing everything in our power to resist, even if it costs us our jobs. We are proud to be Americans, but what is happening right now does not reflect the values we, as Americans, stand for!

Next time someone complains about DEI under the premise that admissions should solely be merit based, remember that the reason DEI policies exist is to even the playing field by diverting privilege from one group to everyone. People like RFK and Trump want to go back to exploiting their privilege.

he is accepted immediately.

This is why building a community is so important. We thrive together, no one needs to grow 100% of a balanced diet on their own.
It is damn near impossible to grow 100% of a balanced diet on your own and unthinkable if you don’t have a lick of experience. You wanna cut down your produce bills w a couple raised beds, maybe learn to can? Sure. You want to opt entirely out of the preexisting food system? Lol. Lmao. Enjoy scurvy.

This is exactly what Camus was worried about when he wrote ‘The Rebel’. The book is a treatise on how rebellion can conquer nihilism only if that rebellion holds to human values of unity and solidarity. I would recommend checking out to anyone interested in rebellion as a philosophical concept.
Was thinking about an article I could write about the role of nihilism in what's currently going on with Trump and Musk and then suddenly remembered I'd already written such an article in 2020...

The Trump administration’s rebranded Schedule F policy aims to reclassify federal employees in policy roles as at-will, removing civil service protections. This will politicize agencies by allowing dismissals based on political alignment.

Not quite doomscrolling, but sometimes I fall into numbscrolling, where there is so much good, bad, curious, important, and frivolous all mixed together that my brain can't process any of it. That's when it's time to stop and read a book, I think.
