We read with interest the recent article by Strömdahl et al., assessing the correlation between time to blood culture positivity (TTP) for Staphylococcus aureus and the risk of infective endocarditis (IE) [1]. Their data indicate that shorter TTP (< 13 hours) was associated with a higher risk of IE.
