In 1948, a man donned 13-pound, three-toed cast-iron shoes and walked along a Florida beach at night. The footprints led people to believe a 4.5-meter-tall penguin was roaming their lands. It continued its mischief for 10 years, visiting various beaches. The hoax was only exposed 40 years later

He was born into an aristocratic family, first learning to play the cello.

A depiction of flying objects in a German alchemical text from the 17th century. The objects are large square stone blocks. Some of them are lying on the riverbed to the right, some on a hill to the left, and a pile on the road. Apparently, these are blocks from some ruined structure.

Take the Carina Nebula (NGC 3372), for example, which is located between 6,500 and 10,000 light years away. If we were to place our solar system in this nebula, it would simply be lost among these huge clouds of gas and dust.
