i feel i get frustrated by this sort of thing if it’s years after the fact or it jumps straight to live action.

+ look back is a very “manga” work even if it’s not naruto, very invested in its own subculture and it seems impossible to scrub it of that vs other works which manage to seem ashamed

…did manage to sneak in the conclusion to this trilogy though. i love what i’ve read from hobb so far, but this felt distinctly less focused and more circular. still a solid conclusion

brutal, disorienting and unrelenting.

i can definitely see the parallels to kafka people highlight, but to me lacks some of the emergent black comedy in those stories
