…did manage to sneak in the conclusion to this trilogy though. i love what i’ve read from hobb so far, but this felt distinctly less focused and more circular. still a solid conclusion

…and also last night finished this. brutal, clinical, dissociative. enjoyed it much more than high-rise

coming to the conclusion that Mishima’s prose is like having waves washing over you, totally subsuming you

reading Dazai always has the power to make me feel as though i’m climbing into his hole with him

brutal, disorienting and unrelenting.

i can definitely see the parallels to kafka people highlight, but to me lacks some of the emergent black comedy in those stories

there’s too much to say about this short book. a powerful kaleidoscopic journey. suffice it to say my first bolaño has left an impression

maybe i will share what i read each month. didn’t finish reading that much in april, i must redouble my efforts
