That’s interesting. I guess what’s less clear is the impact on how patients feel being less sleepy all the time? And the impact on things like mental health… given all the issues with driving of untreated OSA there’s so much more to analyse.

We haven’t had live telly for some years, so I get you. However went to the cinema at the weekend and nearly OD’d on Christmas advertising - it was really overwhelming

Wait, what? Do you send application fees to each college? And how much?

In the UK we have a central application process called UCAS and it costs just under £30 to apply to 5 Unis.

One of the key lessons that could be learnt is that we need proper public health, embedded in the heart of the nhs and empowered to always speak out about public health.
And powered to do things like contact tracing rapidly and effectively

Just, y’know. People.

<shrug>

It applies to almost all settings. 🤣

Apparently there’s increasing research that trauma may cause epigenetic changes, so it’s possible that austerity might echo down generations in many ways.

But, yes, the most immediate, that I see most days, is children’s mental health and the lack of services to support them. It’s terrible

I think it’s fab! My only suggestion would be to remove the plastic “bits” like the needles and stitch markers. The actual balls of yarn are wonderful

Awh. And yet, it’s fantastic that people play with words and want to get it published.

I wonder if it’s unusual to the British that it’s the local newspaper?

Worse than dead? Fascinating. 🤔

I mean, nut allergic

Not but allergic.

(Although I think I could be but allergic, if it’s the sort that makes you mad when someone says “sorry, but…” 🤣)

Most important; don’t get anything with nuts. Caught a flight last week where a passenger was severely but allergic and we had three warnings not to open anything with nuts in during the flight. Very happy to (don’t want to make anyone ill!) but I had to check my M&S salad twice…

Where are they going, then?

Tbf his entire farming show is basically him making a hash of things (ploughing, hedge cutting, etc) and u-turning on how hard it is.
He doesn’t seem to mind being wrong; just sad he has to be really ill to see he was wrong about the NHS

Yep.
“Oh I had a bit of discomfort round my chest earlier” = massive MI.
“Oh I superglued it back on” = severed finger
“My leg was a bit sore” = fracture

All genuine cases. Love the sheer robustness of farmers. They are amazing people.

First rule of rural medicine; a farmer presenting to GP or A&E is an emergency admission until proven otherwise

Baileys?

Making patients safe lies at the heart of me being a doctor.

Expecting the government to share this view & support us in delivering care doesn’t really feel like it should be controversial, does it?
