Right? There's no trepidation that your notifications are gonna blow up with trolls being mean to you.

The only hard part is learning to be unaffected by what other people think about you. If it bothers you to know other people think something untrue about you, it's harder to execute. Which is why being unbothered is such an important skill. You have to remember you can't prove them wrong so why care

Like the leatherbound Sanderson novels? (Goodness gracious they're gorgeous)

Anyway my tablet keyboard broke so it'll be a minute before I can mess around with designs and figure it out 🙃

I'm usually a pretty visual person so I don't make stuff up without forming what it looks like. And of the seven base species, there's only one that idk what they look like. I have a basic idea but I need a solid shape to draw.
It's an easily resolved issue but a very strange experience for me.

I have totally met people intimidated by "theatrical" and "improv". Seems to be "oh no I would have to put myself out there/be good at it/perform!? For other people!?" when that look of panic comes up. (Though in any context including describing ttrpg)

(even then, it's looser in our system 'cause we're making a job system where you could be both a barbarian and a wizard so... It behoves the player to make a complex character in the first place.)

See for us, it makes more sense for that to be tied to job/class more than species. If you have an "angry" specie, then you get the "orc wizard" thing going where it comes with a bunch of odd connotations and less versatility because you gotta explain why your orc is a wizard.

Choosing a specie grants bonus abilities (and if you're half something, you choose from a mix of the tables from your two halves) or things like how high your tolerance for increasingly toxic ambient magic is, but any sapient species is always gonna have a lot of variability in personality, we think

Haha not me having just posted about our humans who are, at their core, diverse. I don't think it's an unreasonable approach - not a lot of other animals on our own planet are as diverse as we.
That said, it also mattered to us that other species aren't much classified by a personality.

Jack of All Trades used to be much more video-gamey. Basically because Tyler studied math and put in way more calculations than would ever work in a pen and paper system ("Everyone has a calculator on their phone. It will be fine!")

You should! It adds like a billion Castlevania items to the game! They're gorgeous, too.

Did you ever see the Castlevania mod?
