Highlight of my day: Getting a selfie with Chris Kluwe @chriswarcraft.bsky.social while wearing a Chris Kluwe t-shirt at today’s Hands Off protest in Huntington Beach!

TODAY WE MOBILIZED OVER 3 MILLION PEOPLE ACROSS THE NATION!!!

This movement has entered the next chapter: the people will mobilize again, and again, until we make a difference.

It only takes 3.5% of the population in a sustained resistance in order to make a difference.

This is a John Lewis quote that appears in David Pepper's book "Saving Democracy." It seemed right for a thank you note to the lawyers from across the profession working hard and risking much to protect our democracy and freedom--like the 500 firms who signed the Perkins Coie amicus brief today.

AmLaw 100 law firms: There's still time to join the Perkins Coie amicus brief, written with courage by lawyers from Munger Tolles.

WilmerHale also appears to be partially successful in its injunction request, blocking Trump's EO. news.bloomberglaw.com/business-and...
Judge Says He Is Inclined to Grant WilmerHale Restraining Order
A DC federal judge on Friday said he is inclined to grant WilmerHale a temporary restraining order against a Trump administration executive order, though there’s a question as to how broad it will be.

Feeling inspired by Jenner & Block (and Cooley), WilmerHale (and Clement & Murphy), and Perkins Coie (and Williams & Connolly) for choosing the hero's path. The first rule in fighting tyranny is not to obey in advance (or maybe ever).

This is what I’m reminded of listening with disgust to the Signal-gate hearings. Let’s make George Orwell fiction again.

Another Executive Order against Big Law - this time against Jenner & Block. How do fellow AmLaw 100 firms provide support to prevent a Paul Weiss-like disaster?

ANOTHER Trump attack on the legal profession. This EO comes after commentators warned today that DOJ lawyers are risking disbarment due to statements made in pending, high-profile cases. This is a classic Trump strategy: Accuse your (perceived) enemies of the wrongs you're already committing.

Update- Earlier today, a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order blocking key provisions of President Donald Trump’s executive order. The court ruled that the president’s actions could have a chilling effect on legal advocacy and threaten the foundation of the justice system.

A question about Sarah McBride’s rights: Does DC law apply inside federal buildings, I assume? Doesn’t it require access to bathrooms matching one’s gender identity? Also, I assume Ms. McBride’s gender is legally female? Is Mace not only morally bankrupt but also legally wrong in multiple ways?
