It stepped away from the traditional fantasy setting, having little to do with crystals or the job system. It felt different compared to the other five games.

Yeah, the more I think about it, its probably just the graphics and style of the models I'm going on about. Hell, if we're talking about departures from the core Final Fantasy aesthetic, 6 was probably the starting point.

Mostly in terms of looks and aesthetics, but mechanically the games start to feel different. 9 was intentionally a callback to the older games, but starting with 10, they all have that realistic look you see in 8, and have a much more fluid way to assign abilities than the older games than Jobs.

8 was the first modern Final Fantasy. Its also the only one released in the 90s I didn't play.

I've had mint chocolate chip ice cream that was at best glow-in-the-dark color, and it ruled.

I read somewhere that, in the audition for Ghostbusters, they told her they weren't sure she was up for being in a comedy. She responded by acting like an excited dog for five minutes, because she's a goddamn treasure.

Sometimes I wonder what kept me from becoming an incel. My best guess is that, despite having shit luck getting into a relationship, my takeaway was somehow always "Man, wtf am I doing wrong? Better take more showers or find a job that pays better or something" and not "women be bitches".

If its any consolation, that video you did on Two Point Museum has had positive and long-lasting effects on how my daughter and I spend time together. Watching her get into a game first hand has been a real joy, and the Two Point series fell off my radar after I first heard about it four years ago.

I think I read somewhere that he blamed Ivanna for that, though the real reason was building a casino that was too big and gaudy to pay for itself.

At this point, I figure the Turner Classic channel is the reason my mother hasn't gotten past the "Wow, that's crazy" stage of Fox News brain. If anything, we need *more* old movie channels.

Damn, that's something I never thought about. They do a couple of things I hate about sequels, and still somehow make it worthwhile to watch.

Talking to an LLM is like talking to an actor: it’s trained to give realistic-looking responses. You ask a question thinking you’re talking to Dr House but it’s really Hugh Laurie doing improv, and he’s not going to respond with “I don’t know, I’m not a doctor” because that would be terrible improv.

Pretty sure one of Asimov's stories revolved around the revelation that a robot could lie to avoid violating the First Law of Robotics. I wish...

The number of pro-Trump bots isn't zero, but its sure as shit isn't 100%. He was at full astroturf 10 years ago when he announced he was running for president, but it turned out saying wildly racist bullshit got him to at least 1/3 voter support, rarely dipping below 40% approval.

"Yes, and that's bad." - Me whenever my folks talk about how expensive everything is or some fuckshit the Clintonps got up to.

That thing will outlive all of us.

For my folks, its 50/50 Fox News/Turner Classic or Hallmark Channel, so I'll take those odds.

What, that again? They ran out of ideas before this term began...
