Hot days are here again (VERY hot), but these roses from up the street are filling the air with fragrance so it's not all bad

Went to the Bosque this morning. It was hot, but I didn't die this time because I cooled off by wading in the river.
Very pretty.

There were itty-bitty toads! I caught one and we hung out for a while! (No pics, alas)

It's a gorgeous spring day, birds are singing, flowers and blooming, bees are humming, it's not too hot. Perfect!

Went walking in the Bosque this morning!
There are leaves coming out slowly so it looks like early spring even though it's hot enough to be almost summer.

I have never understood that whole Tulip Craze Thing.
Tulips are boring, clichéd little symbols of spring, and that's it.

But then tulips open and... I sorta get it.

"Cities Made of Song" is out now!

A sci-fi flash fiction with a punk edge, available today only at gohavok.com

And for funsies:

Can you guess what classic rock song partially inspired this story?

Just signed a contract for a flash fiction comedy science fiction story! It'll be coming out on Havok Publishing in April.

Now on to the next story, fortified by a latte, for a deadline (that I forgot about. And it's tonight. Oops.)

When I was little, I told my sisters a fairy tale in which everyone who got married in a certain candle would have wedding garments made to resemble the sunset on their wedding day. Ever since, I still keep an eye out for sunset colored gowns! Like this one:

The snows of winter came early! 👀

Here are pics from my walk in the park this morning. There were so many leaves on the trees still and it was such a wet, heavy snow that the trees shed limbs.

Scene that we observed at our most recent visit to the ABQ Botanic Garden:

I have a little extra time to write today, it's not blazingly hot as it has been, I already did some gardening and I might bake bread later. But alas, I lost my crochet hook, so I'm sad to inform you that all is not right with the world.

Anyway, please enjoy these wisteria I found on my walk:
