Fred Trump’s Limerick

I built from bricks and the grime,
Made fortunes one buck at a time.
Taught my boy to pretend,
That the truth’s just to bend—
And cheating’s not theft—if it’s mine.

Retired Marine & historian. I write plainly about the past and what it warns us. Not here for noise. If you value sober minds and hard truths, you're welcome.

The Despot Cometh

Among the sheep
invective flies,
Where voices bleat
for despot sly.

Ignorant minds
in fervor roar,
Misplaced rage
upon the poor.

He cries “Freedom!”
with chains that bind,
A hater's grip
upon the blind.

On despot’s face,
equality fades,
As truth is lost
his lies invade.

Sadly, there are huge sectors of our society that would disagree they've been free from oppression. In the remote chance the current situation can be turned around we need to keep those multitudes in mind.
We’re taking it back. If you choose to stay ashamed of the flag because it was hijacked and misused, I guess that’s all you get. But it’s a symbol of freedom from oppression. And we’ve saved it and will use it for the symbol it’s meant to be. Freedom
