That way, everyone, including these people will know that they're here only and only because of Modi alone and no kind of merit has played any part in their success.

I disagree with this. This false equivalence of "BJP is as corrupt as Congress and RSS is unhappy with Modi" is what RSS wants people to believe.

Together the BJP, its NRI supporters and the nascent billionaire class convinced the US that the BJP was the party to support if it wanted greater market access to India. The era of liberalization under Manmohan Singh also showed India as a stable country with a growing consumer class.

So naturally these NRIs have gravitated towards the BJP, because it promises both: a complete focus on Hindu cultural majoritarianism to the exclusion of everything else, which also in turn guarantees India will not have any kind of meaningful social and scientific progress.

These "Non-Resident Indians" (NRIs) have a schizophrenic attitude towards India: They want a Hindu cultural resurgence because they want to feel less ashamed of their origins, but they also really don't want India to prosper, because then it would invalidate their choice to immigrate away from India

Mostly, these are kids who crammed for competitive exams during their childhood, and left Indian shores at age 20, without understanding the country very deeply. Their model of Indian history and current affairs is very shallow and based on conspiracy theories and their own inferiority complexes.

Around this time, the Indian diaspora in the North America, Europe, Aus and Middle East had risen to become a significant political force. This diaspora, IMO, is largely muddle-headed and suffering from all sorts of cultural inferiority complexes.
