My mother in law had an inherited cookbook originating from 1800s Cornwall that used this ilk of descriptive devices. “Beat until just right” was my personal favorite. And no actual temperatures for baking because everything was on a wood fired cook stove or open fire. Holidays were a hoot.

Great ideas! It sits on the edge of a swale in the rear drainage easement. We have used other limbs from the birch and red oaks to delineate casual pathways. The woodpeckers love the tree so we’re leaving it until it becomes a real hazard.

I’m considering doing something similar to the dead hawthorn when it’s removed although it’s multi-stem and rotting at the base so may not be feasible.

All I can think of is the incredible amount of work it will take to remove the spray painted trash, patch all the damage and repaint all the walls. I guess it pales in comparison to reconstructing the East Wing.

The conservatives are always talking about how government should be run like a business. I’d say the current management is on par with how Trump ran his businesses…don’t pay the bills, suck everything out you can, declare bankruptcy and leave everyone else to clean up the mess.
