It’s a glorious time of the year, isn’t it? I posted a similar pic yesterday, which shows top left the edge of the balcony off my office. Every morning the top of the maple tree greets me like sunshine when I walk to my desk.

There's hardly a town or village in the whole of Alsace (and the neighbouring Black Forest & Switzerland) that is not built around beautiful half-timbered houses like this in Colmar for instance

I’d never seen a tiger moth in the house until a couple of weeks ago, when this little beauty turned up. It seems to have become a constant visitor ever since. Could this be an omen?

Spinalonga off the coast of Crete was a leper colony from 1903 to 1957 and was the inspiration for Victoria Hislop’s The Island. Must add this book to my TBR list.
