What. A. Night.

A new light is shining on New York City. Getting some sleep. More tomorrow!

New York City, meet our MAYOR @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social!!!
November 5, 2025 at 6:34 AM
פְּתַח לָֽנוּ שַֽׁעַר בְּעֵת נְעִֽילַת שַֽׁעַר כִּי פָנָה יוֹם!
As the sun begins to set, one final canvassing shift, and then off to (BH) celebrate with @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social 🙏

Honestly, this phrase, from the end of Yom Kippur is on my mind:
"Open a door, as the gates are closing!"

Today is a good day to repost this!

So proud that I was the first pulpit rabbi to have @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social attend a Shabbat service during this campaign 💞

This was in February, when he was polling at 4%! We couldn't even have him speak (though I personally wanted...), but he joined us!!!

I love being called stupid by a wannabe fascist dictator. It proves how right we are!

I didn't make this, and have no idea who did, but I find it very sweet. #IYKYK

If you don’t know: it's basically a way for people to collaborate on praying all of Tehillim (Psalms), for the success of @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social in the election.

We are Rabbis for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social because we know his policies align with values core to our Judaism, especially found in this week’s Torah portion.

With @jfrejnyc.bsky.social, @rabbiandykahn.com, and Rabbi Ellen Lippmann.

Today alone, we knocked on 200,000!!! NYC doors, of which a few dozen were me canvassing in Manhattan.

Photo by @jackcalifano.bsky.social for @nzz.ch, which - unbeknownst to me till publication - made it to the cover of the Swiss-German paper of record!
(I thought it was just gonna be online).

The past weeks have been a whirlwind, and especially the last week. We got 51 hours to go till the polls close, and I am ever more proud to be part of #JewsForZohran 💞🗽

So proud of this movement we have built together.
So proud of the thousands of Jews that have knocked on thousands of doors, >

Kinda a PS ---
There is something so powerful about kiddush:

After an emotionally intense week, after a day of cooking and emotion regulation - food is ready, and now just take an intentional break to mark the moment 🤔

Always does wonders to my state of mind!

> of a better New York City, and may we merit to be a model and inspiration for a better world!!!

Shabbat Shalom you all - and gratitude to all who have reached out this week 🫂❤️‍🩹♥️💗

שבת שלום - גוט שבת!

PS: and of course it's a two kugel kinda Shabbat 🤷‍♀️

As the parsha continues with the stories of our ancestors making sense of their surroundings, finding allies, and building a better life, in a better world.

May this Shabbat be restful to all (and to myself, let it be). May the week that comes be the beginning of positive change, >

My personal life has taught me a thing or two about it.

Yet, our tradition teaches, and our history as a wandering people has taught us, that it is exactly by taking those hard steps that we can find and create a reality that works for us, within our communities.

In Talmudic commentary it's interpreted as "Go for yourself: for your good and for your pleasure." The "go to yourself" can also be read as "go find yourself!"

Going, leaving, taking steps into the unknown, into something and somewhere outside of what would be more comfortable, is never easy.

At the end of the day though, it encourages my resolve to keep fighting for what's right.

I have been thinking a lot this week about this week’s parsha (Torah portion): Lech Lecha, which literally mean "go for yourself."

I will be honest, as much as the internet has never made me regret fighting for my beliefs long-term, in the short term, it gets rough at times. What happens online, on social media, podcasts, news sites, and more, does at times wear me down in the short term.

Git Shabbos + photos from Sunday: post voting apple picking in the Hudson Valley 🍎🍏

It has been quite the week since this past Sunday. Let's just say some people on this inaccurate representation of real life (known as the internet), didn't appreciate our work and beliefs for a better NYC.

This is apparently today's cover of the @nzz.ch (Neue Zürcher Zeitung) Swizz-German newspaper. The story is about Jewish support for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social.

I had no idea till today that it was gonna be in print, let alone the cover 🤷‍♀️

And this is from the other Satmar community:
"Zohran Mamdani is Not Antisemitic
He made it clear again and again that he has nothing against the Heimish (Haredi/Orthodox) community in New York, referencing speeches he made over the years against antisemitism. Quite the opposite, he is looking >

The Satmar community is condemning those who are calling @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social antisemitic:

"In the streets there is a fear and hate campaign against Zohran Mamdani,
Portraying him as if he is against Jews,
IT IS FALSE, AND SUCH A CAMPAIGN IS DANGEROUS AND AGAINST THE TORAH WAY."

During one of the readings for Becoming Eve, Mandy read for the role of Tati (based on my dad). And it was magnificent!
October 28, 2025 at 10:31 PM
Love this. My friend Mandy Patinkin, another Jew for Zohran Mamdani!!!

From Mandy: @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social is a deeply thoughtful human being and we think he would make the best NYC mayor imaginable. We feel this as New Yorkers, as Jews and as human beings who are desperate for kindness, >

Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, Rabbi Emerita at CBST, tonight at the "New York is Not For Sale" rally, to GOTV for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social.

To echo Rabbi Kleinbaum, I agree with her when it comes to the city, and more with Zohran on some other issues. Together, we fight for a better NYC!
