The terms imbecile and moron have a long history on the United States, and there's a particular irony in employing them here. Both were once diagnoses that allowed the state to permanently incarcerate people they deemed 'unfit.'

For all the violence outside Broadview I fear more what's inside.

A significant component of modern iterations of ableism is a capitalist market logic and neoliberal value system defining the economic productivity of individuals as a moral and social good, and foundational to the social and moral “health” of societies.
