Writer, addicted reader and climate activist, I live in San Francisco. Bluesky has helped me come to a reckoning with Trump and the 77 million Americans who voted for him. Books are my refuge, writing is my release. https://daverhodywriting.wordpress.com

Veterans Day (née Armistice Day) was a commitment to peace through international law - "but it is a concept that is currently under attack as autocrats increasingly reject the idea of a rules-based international order and claim the right to act however they wish."

Tough this AP article provides an excellent review of accelerating climate change, the fact that few countries have come close to meeting their 2015 Paris Climate Accord goals is, unfortunately, not news.
Some - like the U.S. - are going backward.

Five months later it's about the economy and actual airplanes.

Leo Tolstoy tried to warn us. He saw Stalin coming. He knew a Hitler would arise. Perhaps he even conceived of petty oligarchs like Trump.
He understood that we would never be free of depots, that there would never be a time when we did not have to fight the darkness.

A year ago, we saw that so many of the 77 million Trumpers who put him back in office were very angry people.
Hopefully, a year later, some of them are turning their anger back toward Trump.

HCR presents a startling picture of Nazi influence in the GOP, but reminds us the end result of a similar scenario in the 1920's.
