A rollercoaster of emotions, at times psychological, violent, ton of action but also deep philosophical themes. Ciel's past is intriguing and also has better chemistry with Shiki imo. I recommend this to anyone that wants to get into Type-Moon.

One of the best in the series, great gameplay that feels more refined from previous entries, the ship mechanic is fun with some customization, exploration is pretty simple but fun.
As you expect with Falcom, the story and characters is where the game shines.

This place reminds me of that place in CS4 where Arianrhod rests, and it is fitting considering that here in Ys symbolizes the resting place of Karja's mother.

I knew I had to fight these two eventually, really cool fight! First time playing an Ys game in nightmare difficulty and honestly the game is even more fun this way.

This whole segment of Ys was just amazing, honestly, while Ys games aren't known for their stories I think that each new entry keeps getting better and better in terms of storytelling. Love this!

I love seeing how far Falcom has come with these action sequences, from those sprite fights in the Sky trilogy, to these long ones in Ys X, it does bring a tear to my eye 🥲

I've spent more time navigating the sea to uncover the whole map than advancing the story haha, but I've always found satisfying exploring and also I can't stand looking at a map with a blank spot in it 😅

First boss down, still adjusting to the gane mechanics, and while it still has the same core mechanics as older Ys games it also feels new which is cool.

The game looks prettier than I expected, and also this town's theme gives me Ordis vibes from CS3, I guess it makes sense with both being close to the sea which makes them sound so similar, both nice tunes nonetheless.
