Ennis had the punisher threaten to kill bush ( in shadow). His newest series was discussing BLM and using explicit terms like defund the police

Didn’t MGK have a better album

His stories are rooted in cynicism are allowed to be an actual analysis of vigilantism. In particularly Punisher Max by Ennis. His inherent premise of a seriel killer who does good is a fascinating contridction. And what Ennis’s run does is actually analyze what that would mean and tie it to the MIC

Nick Spencer writing character assassination shouldn’t count

I could respond with a long thread explaining why but the tldr is that people do harass Ennis but he’s completely offline, is an extremely well respected author in the medium, and Ennis is considered one of the nicest people in comics

Ennis is the only reason the Punisher has any sorta leftist depth in the first place. He writes explains of these characters because they aren’t heroes

Not to be the one defending Morgan wallen but I feel like that’s the reason I like it. I’m not listening to the song because I agree with the pov of Morgan wallen ( I’m not really a fan of the song in general so I’m not really listening) but because its unintentional fascinating

I mean good for them. I think despite the loudest voices there are a lot of Christian’s who tend to be leftist

this I believe is what the interview is referring to in terms of the canceled Alan Moore story www.reddit.com/r/AlanMoore/...
From the AlanMoore community on Reddit: Yuggoth, a spinoff of Providence, by Alan Moore, Garth Ennis, Kieron Gillen and Si Suprier is fully complete but not published as Avatar is partially defunct

Where there is another options besides killing someone punisher becomes an endorsement of that. or the roof top scence in the orginal interpretation was meant to a be a satire on superheroes and the punisher
December 4, 2025 at 4:47 AM
The issue is that once you start combining these you get very horrifying effects. Punisher Max by Ennis is brilliant because it starts the assumption that these villains deserve to die (because death penalty is stupid) but when you follow that logic up in a superhero world…
December 4, 2025 at 4:46 AM
There is a lot more to say about this. In fact someone wrote a whole book about this ( the cultural history of the punisher). But the issue is that the punisher can either, an analysis of vigilantism and killing , a meta critique of superheroes, a dumb action plot devoy of substance or a villan

I mean obviously fuck the conservatives but this comic is actually a lot more nuance than this short tells. Essentially Frank is paired up with a social workers in this story. Both of them abhor sex traffickers but Frank never doesn’t anything to help the victims compared to social worker

Yall are sick. Ennis is geniuely one of the nicest people in the industry
November 20, 2025 at 4:23 PM
they are usually killed because it’s meant to be incredibly cynical view of sexism and trauma.

I could go on a long explaination about why Ennis said this, for one this is taken out of context because it was said once in a interview to an Irish publication, Ennis isn’t likely talking about Jack Kirby but Ed brubaker‘s run, he‘s Irish so probably wants a more nuanced view of wwII
