It's really something. Anytime they got in against anyone even decent, they'd get hammered. Hadn't ever really seen it laid out like this before.

Lots of word-shaped air here from Garber. When the first thing he mentions after touting the need to reach an "international standard" are new stadiums, it does little to counter the belief that MLS is, for many owners, simply a real estate investment.

This anecdote from Conan's writers has also stuck with me re: Simmons. www.vulture.com/2012/05/tale...

I should reserve judgement until after the playoffs finish, but this is so much slop.

Too many teams.
Too many groups.
Too many matches.
Too many hosts.
Too much everything.

If the Champions Lge expansion was our first look at pure soccer-as-content ideology, this surely is its apotheosis.

I realized that I neglected to post anything on the most important topic of the weekend, but I'll just leave it at this.

Support the calendar move unreservedly at this point, but the divisions/table thing below is unnecessarily complicated. Just keep divisions. North America is huge. A "proper" single table disadvantages western and particularly PNW teams with even more endless air travel than their competitors.

About sums things up for DC United.

This is just a wild take to make on this. The logic falls apart within maybe three minutes of thinking about it.

But as rage/engagement bait? 🤌

Okay, this actually means something outside of politics/culture war stuff. It’s weird, but it is a thing you hear to explain how engines work and it’s accurate too.

The jacket is better, I'll say that. Still though, not a chance I'm spending until things change dramatically.

Until then, rise up, @washingtonspirit.com.

I like the three stripes. What DC United fan wouldn't?

I don't like the team's name across the front, which we never had back in the good old days.

I absolutely hate the idea of giving any money to this organization right now. Not gonna' happen. #SelltheTeam

You just don't get to say this as a #USMNT player. To be counted out, first you'd have to be counted for something.

US (men's) soccer's mouths and egos writing checks their talent can't cash.

It's been evident for some time that a) Pulisic isn't very bright and b) he isn't very well-managed by his agency.

Well... look at recent m&w RWC results. 🤷

FWIW, I was America's worst tighthead prop in HS and love the sport. Glad to see it find a good home.

@stevengodfrey.bsky.social @splitzoneduo.com Only half joking, but when does this start to matter for the Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma programs?

I always say this to torture Spurs fans, but you know who has billions, time on his hands, ownership experience (lol), and has been hanging out in London a lot more?
