Honestly, if the "It Ends With Us" drama causes Colleen Hoover to retire I'll be team Justin AND team Blake. #BookSky

Once again a famous and popular media property tells the story of a corrupt elite keeps its power by isolating people, keeping them in fear of one another using false propaganda, and their control begins to slip when people begin interact with one another and see one another as people.

Hey, does anyone have any resources to read more about J.R.R. Tolkien's anti-allegory stance or is it pretty much just his forward (introduction?) to Fellowship?

I want to better understand his perspective. #BookSky

Is it considered a hot take to say that Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande's version of "Defying Gravity" is better than the one on the original Bradway soundtrack?

Like they're both great, but something about Cynthia Erivo's voice is PERFECT for that song.

Do I just have a super weird and niche taste in books, or does my local library system (probably due in part to underfunding) just have a really bad selection of books? I feel like whenever I go to get a specific book, they only have it like 20% of the time.

Just finished "Every Heart A Doorway" by Seanan McGuire. It was good, but was largely carried by it's prose and characters rather than by it's storytelling and plot. The 1st third was slow and hard to get into. The 2nd third was GREAT. The 3rd third was WAY too fast and sloppy. #BookSky

What am I supposed to do when I find a highlight worthy quote in a library book?! Ignore it? Deface library property? I need to highlight the quote and then never ever return to it, like a good reader!

And that's why I spent another $300 at the bookstore. For physical copies I keep.

Isn't it weird how (basically) every single post-apocalyptic story that has some semblance of a happy ending also has a message about how community is what helps us survive and rebuild? I wonder why that is.

(I know why that is)

You know what's not talked about enough? How Charles Dickens clearly had ADHD. He got like 3 sentences into "A Christmas Carol" before he got sidetracked on a like 2 page diatribe about whether a door nail or a coffin nail is more dead. #BookSky

I want those Dungeon Crawler Carl books pls!

(Also unrelated to that, how can I get in touch with you to pay forward a free shirt you gave me on twitter about a year (2? What is time?) ago. How can I contact you about that?)

I feel like listening to Audible Original Audio Dramas is probably what it's like to be in the self aware stage of a substance addiction. They're not good, not even one of them, I'm aware that I am annoyed by them and feel like I wasted 2-5 hours after every one of them, but I can't stop doing it.
