2,000 years ago, built in honor of Confucius, the Imperial Academy was the first and foremost center of advanced higher education learning without discrimination in feudal China where even the dynasty emperors were sent to be educated. Confucius got it right.

My hotel has robots! Great use of ubiquitous sensors & actuators. Motion & proximity sensors Identify hot spots for traffic density over time, use linear regression slope & intercept to target next best position for upcoming hour, plot course autonomously, maximize peripheral engagement w/ guests.

That moment where you have to stop and appreciate a soul-stirring sunset. I swear it felt like the sun was setting in the East at Tianjin University in China, but my compass assured me it was setting to the West. I’m Floridian living in SoCal, I KNOW East from West, but not in China apparently.

No electric scooters or e-bikes are allowed to be used at university campuses in China any longer by students or professors! Lithium batteries were apparently burning down dorms. Plus side, campuses are quieter and more tranquil now with good old fashioned pedal power. :-)

College Students are leaning into GPT w/ queries like “make me an essay in APA format with cited sources where…” AI generates convincing narrative but w/ false citations/sources. Plagiarism detection eg TurnItIn or ZeroGPT don’t catch it. What is solution:Anti-AI policy, embrace AI w/limits, other?
