On this Juneteenth, remember: slavery was once legal. Harboring a fugitive enslaved person? Illegal. Black freedom? Illegal. “Illegal is illegal” has always been used to defend injustice.

At least a dozen times in the Bible, Jesus is described as being “moved by compassion” to help someone in need.
I just can't imagine a scenario where we get to heaven and Jesus says...

Preaching and teaching the gospel should never be hortatory, but revelatory. A sermon should not end with "let us..." but with promise--a scriptural promise from the Father in Jesus Christ with the power of the Spirit.
(and by the way, politicians should never say "I promise you...")

Long term, the future of sport, especially team sports is to restructure them to be inclusive for all. It’s time to recognize that everyone brings something unique to the games we play!
