WE WON! After 42 days of striking we have a tentative agreement in hand that protects our existing 4 day work week, establishes a minimum salary, and adds protections against AI replacing jobs at our workplace!

If you enjoyed the AI rant I published last week, this killer blog from @janus.bsky.social hits on similar notes but is like, way, way more thoughtful and well-put: aftermath.site/ai-is-the-ul...
AI Is The Ultimate "Forced Meme"
There are few things in this world more insufferable than a rich person trying to force their shitty ideas on everyone else. And in 2025, there are very few things that feel more forced than “Generati...

OpenAI's Sora 2 is flooding social media with videos of women being strangled. Yet another example of generative AI companies failing to prevent users from creating media that violates their own policies against violent content.

Between this and Zohran having attended AEW shows, I'm excited to replace our wrestling fan government (derogatory) with a wrestling fan government (complimentary)
Happy to be of service!

I’d love to be more specific about why working in the tech industry during this AI bubble is driving me crazy, but dissent isn’t exactly safe these days. Anyway, I blogged. www.aaron.mn/ideology-1-1

Shout out to everyone who scolded me for even suggesting I wasn’t thrilled to vote for Biden or Harris. This race should be the easiest layup in history.
CNN: Mamdani, are you going to vote for him?

CHUCK SCHUMER: We're continuing to talk.

CNN: The vote is on Tuesday; what are you gonna do?

I talk to developers every day and it’s not exactly a secret that AI is as inaccurate with programming as it is with anything else. I’m begging journalists to talk to workers instead of the lowlifes evangelizing this junk.
"But when the team looked at the employees’ actual work output, they found that the developers had completed tasks 20% slower when using AI than when working without it. Researchers were stunned. “No one expected that outcome. We didn’t even really consider a slowdown as a possibility.”

You have agency! All you have to do is see that you’re being harassed, experience the harassment, and request that it be removed! Hopefully nobody saw it or saved it before that! It’s fine, actually!
“…that Sora is being used for stalking and harassment will likely not be an edge case, because deepfaking yourself and others into videos is one of its core selling points.”

Far from an edge case, it’s the primary use case.
Stalker Already Using OpenAI's Sora 2 to Harass Victim
A journalist claims that her stalker used Sora 2, the latest video app from OpenAI, to churn out videos of her.

What’s Sora supposed to be for, even? ChatGPT being a plain-language search engine makes conceptual sense, at least. Sora is an endless feed of zero-value misinformation, IP theft, and harassment-fodder. I feel insane!

Everyone's focusing on copyright, but I wish there were more conversation about how vapid Sora is. It's the lifeless conclusion of tech companies pounding our brains to pudding. Evil, evil, evil software in the most literal sense.
