Great summary of where we are compared to 10 years, but it looks like emissions have INCREASED during this period rather than decreased, and that we've blown past any hope of sticking to the 2C warming target.
We are doing far too little, far too late.

And I shouldn't even have to say it but resorting to blatant hate speech or unfounded conspiracy nonsense (e.g. idle speculation about people's motives presented as Fact) is *not* the way forward.

So by all means, continue to express displeasure with politicians who aren't doing what you want them to. But just like with delegating any task, make sure that what you're asking for is both reasonable and realistic.

It's certainly valid to argue that the pain is worth it for better results later, but unless there is clear consensus on what that looks like, it is inevitable that different well-meaning non-idiot un-corrupt people will disagree on the best strategy and short-term negotiating tactics.

The republicans have been trying to obliterate the ACA since before it was passed, and are using the shutdown to continue the process of dismantling the govt that they started with DOGE. The longer it lasts, the more damage they do, and the more people suffer.

What I haven't seen (perhaps I just missed it) is any blame towards the 50+ republican senators. Just the democrats, who are still in the minority. I also haven't seen any suggestions of what a successful outcome would be at this point.

In addition to the all-out apoplectic rage and death threats, a lot of the attacks take the form of the vilest of antisemitic slander, including ludicrous allegations of AIPAC (i.e. The Jews) influence.

People are blaming Schumer for caving, even as he vows to continue to fight. Could he be doing a better job herding cats and fighting harder, quite possibly. But that's not what I'm seeing. Instead, there is full-blown Qanon-style conspiracy theory being bandied about by ppl who should know better.

For there to even be such a correlation, the amounts of those who voted "yes" vs "no" have to be compared and found higher for those who voted yes.

The problem with this thesis is that he's been doing the exact same thing since the 70's.
The only difference is that for decades his antics were largely confined to NYC and AC so the rest of the country was spared, and now he has a larger audience. We tried to warn y'all...
