Spot on from The Guardian except no mention of Brexit. Reeves needs to stop levelling the pile of pennies next to her bed like Osbourne and start looking at the real world. Britain needs investment and poorer people need help with energy bills and high cost of living.

Since Johnson the bbc is a mouthpiece for the right- and i don’t mean the Thatcherite right, I mean the far racist right. This is about to be ratcheted up so it does their bidding all the time. This is happening in plain sight under a Lab govt. I don’t agree with political interference but why now

George Osbourne was booed at 2012 olympics. Tories remained in power until 2024.

And…. What’s your point?

Dangerous nonsense from Nandy about Maccabi Tel Aviv fans. Does she not keep up with the news or has Starmer’s wife taken all the objective sense out of this govt?

And will this new force of progression embrace constitutional reform incl voter reform? Will it embrace common sense politics like a return to the EU?

It was no coincidence he changed sides from welcoming Russian oligarchs and Putin to being a friend of Ukraine after realising which way the wind was blowing. A man totally in it for himself with no other guiding principles.

He mentioned various causes of a “systemic failure in our justice and prison system” He mentioned austerity - which the Telegraph and he supported- he mentioned privatisation- again supported by him and Telegraph. Why wasn’t he called out for his hypocrisy? Breathtakingly bad journalism by bbc.

The fact Lab don’t want to go there - talking about Brexit/ rejoining - makes me question their grip on things and intelligence. Rejoin and voters return from greens and liberals and economy gets a 4% shot in the arm. Why don’t they do this then. Is it the above or malevolent forces?

Where?

Agree but the present govt continuing the policies of the Tory govt doesn’t help them in distancing themselves from the Tories. Of course it’s hypocritical for Tories to criticise when current govt direction is almost indistinguishable from the last.

The most disingenuous claptrap I’ve heard from a QT contributor. An entitled privately educated (St Judd grammar school Kent) who has spouted the usual rw stuff as befits the DT. Yet when he spoke presumably for his Sunderland audience, he sounded liberal. He’s not. Inauthentic is an awful charge.
