Accessibility advocate, writer of songs, smacker of drums, player of keys, chess Padawan, part time dog pillow and chief scratching officer, unhinged, stubborn, believer of the round earth and all who science upon her. Nazis, FUCK OFF.
Amazon kindle app on my phone open, scrolling through multi tasking with the screen reader, someone at Amazon programmed their accessible name of the app to read “Shit”. Ironic, because it’s in the list next to iPhone email which actually is shit.

What’s the biggest red flag you’ve seen chatting to an ai company founder?

I’ll start, telling you about the unrealistically enormous server they’ve bought, when there’s no way they need 80TBs of storage or 16 CPU sockets.

I bet the reason they aren’t giving more details on who killed Charlie Kirk is too fold:

1. They’ve realised the shooter looks nothing like and is definitely not an immigrant.

2. Trump realises he can use this moment to seize whatever power he wants and will invoke a state of emergency.

Everyone getting their knickers in a twist about #GPT5 legitimately sucking ass, to them I say “Welcome to the club. You’re a bit late, but the food’s still warm, the beer’s still cool and the night’s still young.”

I am not citrusly inspired, I am visually impaired.

I’ve made lots of dishes where the effort:taste ratio is large enough to ban ready meals on the spot.

Risotto isn’t one of them. Oh it tastes amazing, but frankly if it didn’t after 1hr of stirring, adding stock, wine, parmesan and truffle oil to taste, someone’s head would end up on my wall.

Serious question, why don’t blue states just hold referendums on leaving the states and go independent?

You can write your own laws anyway; would there be anything to lose? Some states could even have public healthcare.

I’m sure there’s a reason, just thought I’d ask as a Brit.

Started coding aged 12 with AutoIt and VB.NET, their documentation was made for beginners and the road to getting better was clear.

HDD died, and with it my passion for programming, all my work was gone.

Rust, ngl, first modern language that treats normies well and showed me I could code again.

I hate that the world is easier to live in after two glasses of neat vodka, but it’s definitely true. Never start a software company, try to avoid fascists, and always stand up for what you believe in.

So today in the fuck is wrong with AI, I had to put a bank level block on open AI because:

1. They’ve billed me twice even though all my accounts with them no longer exist.

2. I can’t contact their support because chat doesn’t work with VoiceOver on the devices I had to hand.

Illegal?

How marvelous to see @chess.com cares so much about my blindness. I’ve been nagging them about accessibility for 18 months, and it’s only been getting worse. I could take them to court at this point but frankly I haven’t the spoons yet. #a11y #chess

What if Elon gets desperate enough he uses doge to stage a coup? His companies have close up footage of just about every secure facility the govt uses Tesla cars near and in, a bunch of communications satellites, and doge has control of an awful lot of govt data, and payment facilities.

Yo openAI just billed me for an account that no longer exists. Wtf?

There are two ways to fight wars. First is beating the crap out of each other, either with drones, swords, bombs, cyber attacks, or whatever you have to hand.

The other is to just do a better job than the other side. Think space race, Concorde, etc.

If we are due a war, let’s make it the latter.

I just said to someone it’s been a rough month and a bit since that whole liberation day thing, looked at the calendar and it’s only been three weeks. Good fucking Lord I never thought I’d be world weary at 30 but here we are.

Prediction: if Europe, the UK, or both play their cards right over the next 12 months, there’s a chance large tech companies relocate to the EU or the UK.
April 14, 2025 at 9:30 PM
I’ve given up. @chess.com will never be accessible. I’ve tried to point this out to them too many times. Bye bye.
April 14, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Guys, you’re missing a trick. You want to hit Trump where it hurts?

EU and UK should tariff American asset managers like blackrock and others.

Right problem, terrible solution.

Ok, humour me.

What studies? Because I would pay a fucking mint plus tax to see a write up and a Timelapse of the experiment that came to *THAT* conclusion.

Animators, do your duty 😜😀🔥

Anyone know of a vst that turns one vocal track into a crowd? Preferably with varying sizes up to a few hundred thousand?

My Dad is determined to believe this is all good, and tried to tell me that one of our local supermarkets M&S was actually up.

He got so offended when I pulled up the stock chart. Like, actual shouting and stormed out the room.
depending on when/where you've checked the news, you've got people seeing tickers up several percent while the headlines talk about a market crash, but also people seeing red across the board while the headlines say it's a rally
