For those who want to know the basics of alt text, Veronica Lewis has a brilliant approach that's become known as the "capybara method."

The 17 states suing to end Section 504 are Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia.

Here's an example that can help explain. This screenshot comes from The New York Times' "Most Popular Recipes of 2024." The caption text underneath the image described who took the photo and who styled it. That's where that info belongs: in a caption, not alt text.
