Seen on X. “New Space” is not just an image or a concept. Most Western launch vehicles inherited from the Cold War now have successors.

Given the stakes, appointing Jared Isaacman might be the best choice for NASA. Wait and see.

Glad to see that the possibility of Starship’s success for LEO is being taken seriously at ESA. Elon Musk’s 3D renderings are one thing; the work of 15,000 people in the world’s largest aerospace company and leading power is quite another.
Contract for a reuseable upper stage demonstration mission signed at IAC ✍️

@esa.int and Avio signed a contract for 24-months of development activities aiming at the in-flight demonstration of a reusable upper stage.
September 29, 2025 at 1:00 PM
This agreement between Avio and ESA is encouraging. Starship could succeed as a replacement for the STS: a fully reusable heavy launcher for LEO. It would be foolish for Europe to miss the 2nd gen of reusable rockets because its decision-makers spent their time mocking the competitors 3D renderings.
The activities will assess and prepare the requirements, the design and the technologies for both the ground and flight segments required for an upper stage demonstrator that in the future could return to Earth and be reused on another flight. 🚀

I’ll cover this in the next Space International: much of the criticism of Starship in Europe stems from Musk’s colonization plans. Yet even if it lifts "only" 60t to LEO, its reusability would be revolutionary. It’s easy to mock renderings, what really matters is anticipating realistic capabilities.

Happy National Space Day to all my Indian friends! 🚀✨

India is today one of the most dynamic nations in space exploration, a country that can be truly proud of its achievements so far.
And the best is yet to come.

#ISROFixYourPR is quite literally a digital protest calling for better communication from a space agency. It’s absolutely remarkable.

If India wants to benefit from its space program, it will need to build a genuine connection between the program and the public.
That’s the meaning behind #ISROFixYourPR. I’ll be discussing this in relation to the Axiom-4 mission in an article for @spaceexplore.bsky.social.
Stay turned skyward!

"#ISROFixYourPR"
Something unprecedented within a space community seems to happening. In India, ISRO fans have organized themselves to demand better outreach for the national space program! I don’t believe there are any other examples of a digital popular movement in support of a space program.

It was 56 years ago today Neil Armstrong first stepped on the moon — a worldwide event that millions tuned into, including me and my brother (even if I did fall asleep). It’s a big reason we became astronauts and a great example of what our country can do when we work together.

I have a secondary quest: understand the configuration of the Icarus Firefly's fusion engine. Well, that's it. Now I need to understand what each component does. Is the Z-pinch a physical tube, or a plasma beam? 🤔
Any thoughts? 😅
Fusion starships from BIS:
indico.esa.int/event/309/at...
There's the classic Daedalus, the Icarus pinning its hopes on Ultra-Dense Deuterium, the mind-boggling Firefly and now the 'Ghost' using a plasma-jet magneti-inertial fusion drive to reach 0.05C then stop at its destination.
