Milk pork is right. My brother has been gone for 12.5 yrs now and this is the 1st yr I haven't cried all week long up to his birthday. I made it through this year by turning his bday into a simple family holiday. We made candy this year in memory of him. Some yrs are better than others. *Hugs*

I would definitely be breathing a sigh of relief, not because I thought the work was over and all was good now but because I could have hope that some of the systemic problems could be fixed instead of made worse. I'm sure many Americans would be as you suggest though, and I agree that's not okay.

Thank you. My husband and I were seriously looking at moving to either Canada, Scotland, or Germany. We've been planning for the past 5 years but our country is set up to keep the poor poor and make the rich richer. The US is not the land of opportunity it claims to be.

Therefore, I AM a part of the solution, as much as I can be. Again, my ability to influence things is extremely limited and that is frustrating & frightening. And again, I am sincerely glad you are not afraid, because I am, and it sucks to be so powerless.

I am angry with those who didn't care enough to get out and vote. I did go out and vote. My son, who previously said he wasn't voting, went out to vote for the 1st time (he's 19) because he realized how bad Trump was for this country. I spoke out against Trump to family & friends. They rejected me.

I am scared. I thought maybe you might be too. I'm glad that's not the case. I'm glad you are in a position to feel confident in defending your country. Unfortunately I don't have the resources to put myself and my family in a better position to fight the atrocities that are happening in the US.

And I really do mean that I would stand with Canada. I'm not happy that I'm an American and if I had the money I would move to another country in a heartbeat.

I am also disappointed that those with the power to change things are not doing so. I am dirt poor and have a small sphere of influence, but I personally do what I can and I've actually managed to change a few minds. It's not enough, but it's all I can do.

Only 25% of our country voted for the current felon-in-chief--if even that many. He is there because he cheated the system with his riches and threatened people. Most of us do not want him in charge, but unfortunately we are not rich enough to have much influence if any at all. The rich rule here.

I live my life loving people and animals. I don't harm others. So no, it is not my fault that my country is the way it is. It is unfair to paint all Americans with the same brush. There are many here who hate the way our country functions and who voted for love, peace, and hope.

If I didn't think my words were supportive, I wouldn't have said them. I'm sorry you took offense. I'm sure you're just as scared as I am. I didn't ask for people in my country to be this stupid or hateful. I didnt choose to be an American. I'm ashamed of my country.

Did you really feel the need to judge me?

I never voted for him either. I'm American and I stand with you guys. Make America Great by making us your 11th province! 🇨🇦

Unfortunately honesty makes some people nervous. It makes them feel guilty. Some are resentful of people like us. But for others, we are a lifeline. We give people hope that recovery is possible and we help others in recovery to keep going. I'm proud of you.

I'm going to have to find out more about this now. I totally want to hang toast on my tree for the birds and squirrels!

Anyone else find that caffeine helps them fall asleep? If I drink it in the morning, I get a short burst of energy, but if I drink it after noon I can fall right to sleep. Unless it's an energy drink, which I can't drink past 4 pm unless I want to be up until 2am. (Which sometimes I do!)

I have 2 kids on the spectrum and learned early on (and by accident) that caffeine helped to calm my older one down. The younger calms with caffeine too but then has a burst of energy about 3 hours later!

Me too. My drug of choice is Pepsi, but coffee is good too. I have been using caffeine to lower my anxiety for years and help me think straight. Wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until about 6 months ago -- and I'm 47.
