A friend in Minneapolis who works for the state legislature told us “not widely reported is the fact that this guy also killed the victims' dog.” Waiting to hear back which person’s dog.

I have metastatic lung cancer & cuts are also causing chaos & delays for TIL (tumor infiltrating lymphocytes, an extremely promising immunotherapy that my dr has been talking about since my dx 3 years ago) clinical trial patients. Most clinical trial pts are out of options & time.

I’m 42 & have metastatic lung cancer. Meeting this week with leaders in the lung cancer research community & my patient group to discuss strategies for how we break into the general public’s awareness about what continuity of NIH funding means for our survival. Long shot but we’d love your help.

I have metastatic lung cancer & our patient group is discussing how we raise more public awareness, esp around federal research funding cuts. Most people don’t realize how critical continuity of federal grants are to our miraculous biomedical advances. Pls message me to discuss strategies further.

Lifelong active Dem from NC. I have Stage IV cancer & this CR cuts cancer research by 57% as you well know. It cuts FEMA relief as you well know. Millions of Americans need & expect you to fight, not capitulate.

That will often be the case. But for folks with diseases like metastatic cancer, ALS, dementia, etc, without research there are not going to be critical advances to develop that actual medicine in the first place. For anyone. Imagine it being the mid-90s & AIDS research is gutted.

I have Stage IV lung cancer. I’ve never been mad at cancer: an impersonal biological event.

But I am furious with this Administration: gutting of medical research & elevation of unqualified sycophants to head our health agencies. 1000s of university research jobs will now be cut too.

I have Stage IV lung cancer, which presently can be managed with treatments that last for a period of time but is incurable. I am probably alive today because of my targeted therapy, which was only FDA-approved in 2020. Our community depends on NIH research for our lives. I am frighted and enraged.

Thanks for sharing. I've submitted my response and shared this link with a PhD friend in the pharma industry who was invited by NIH's director to testify next month before DHHS about the importance of academia-industry drug development collaborations. That meeting was just cancelled indefinitely.
