At the point in my latest project where it looks like I butchered a robot deer.
4 out of 5 sculptural elements from my latest print covered in bondo glazing putty liquid runoff. They are a bone ivory, and spindly, forking once. The goo is a slightly orangish red.

Fuckkin finally finished sewing my giant katamari. Got a bit more work to do to make it battery-powered, and thus properly rollable, but hey.

Alright, finally getting around to doing the pattern for September's Stupid Sewing-project. Going to have to clean up the edges and add a seam allowance after I run the file through the vinyl cutter onto paper. God, I hope I can find my sharp needles for the ripstop.
A Katamari modeled in Blender. It's a modified truncated icosidodecahedron, with the ten-sided faces rotated. The edges are highlighted, as it is in edit mode, and it's flat-shaded grey. This is one fifth of one of the 12 nodes on the Katamari, plus some of the boundary panels. Not quite the minimum number of pieces I'd need to make a pattern, but close, and enough to make sewing simpler. The dimensions the length of this span alone is over a meter.

Some times events line up, like when one of your coworkers is out for hip replacement surgery, and another hands you a box of old trophies to dispose of.

Between the 3D printer and the laser engraver at the hackerspace, I think I did an ok job. Didn't get around to airbrushing the top gold, though

I figure my 3d printer deserved the sticker my friend gave me a while back.

Some days I fix things at work, and some days...
A concrete beam, before load. There is a 1" x 1" grid drawn on the side for crack mapping. A concrete beam after the break. The crack maps are populated, and it's held together solely by the rebar on the bottom.

The stack of 3d printed Lego bricks grows. I found a spool of a better Blacktron II / M-Tron transparent neon green, but I'm still looking for a proper Ice Planet transparent neon orange. The green parts all fluoresce and light up nicely, but I want MORE.
Some 3d printed Lego parts joined together. There are 2 2x2 inverted radar dishes (4740) , the space torch (3959), a cone (4589) and a single stud (4073) all stacked together. The torch is gray, but the rest are translucent green. Around them is a mess, but notably a 3d printed goose holding keys, and wearing a flannel wrap.

A classic at the ASCE Student Steel Bridge Competition regionals.
A very dated bridge design with thick wall square tube. The bridge is 20' long and a bit saggy. Most of the modern bridge designs have fancier fittings/ faying surfaces. Still, a lot of design elements remain unchanged.

Another fine day making shapes at the shape factory!

Some day I'll have a Diacro of my very own.
Two piles of concrete stirrups in various levels of completion. Each spindled on a threaded rod poking up from a large hydraulic contraption made of structural steel. The radiator in the background never turns off, even in the summer. The blueprint for a concrete stirrup on the Diacro bender with one of 20 completed stirrups. The background is an absolute mess.

A nice resting point in today's rigging puzzle!
A composite concrete and foam insulation beam perched just outside of the overhead crane's reach. One end is on the universal tester, and the other is on the strong floor, while the middle is unsupported. The moments before and after the photo was taken were some Scooby Doo, ghost-trapped-in-a-net-on-rollerskates level of mechanical buffoonery. The whole area is quite messy, and I apologize.

#Skycards has been my phone game of choice for the past month or so. While I have been googling autogyros and other interesting aircraft I've found, I'm not quite sure facebook ads understands my obsessions:
Not an ad for an autogyro, but an ad for an AutoGyros! A vertical gyro spit / broiler for cooking lamb. Not gonna lie, really want a gyro and fries right now.

Yes! Finished my Christmas sewing project minutes before midnight! I made a bunch of sherpa-lined scarves (in three colors). The magnetic clasps are great (though a pain to sew in), but it does now mean the scarves are chiral, and sometimes take two or three tries to put on.
Three of six scarves in black, blue, and green plaid. They are lined with faux wool for warmth. They have magnetic fasteners to keep closed.
