Much needed virtual education. I’ve said before that media is often overlooked by Indigenous education because it’s not something that’s easy to draw parallel to Indigenous ways of knowing and being. But media is storytelling, the foundation of our oral traditions that preserve our culture.
Carleton University's School of Journalism and Communication has announced its plans for a new program for Indigenous students.

The one-year program will allow Indigenous students to learn the basics of journalism in the comfort of their own communities.

For my MFA in documentary media I filmed the return to my reserve, Moose Factory, for the first time since I was after being removed from my family during the end of the 60s Scoop. Inspired by Tasha Hubbard, I took many long shots of my experience hoping to create a serene feeling.
