Getting a chance to ride some big cols the Alps this week 🤩 Col des Montets/com du Forclaz near Chamonix, then Italy to France via Petit col de St Bernard, and today the Col De la Madeleine.
Only downside was losing my @writebikerepeat.bsky.social cap from a jersey pocket 😭 thus no summit selfies..

There's a well known gravel bike loop near me in the Lake District called "The Ghost Loop" for this very reason!

Well this aged poorly. Got up both climbs but they did give me a kicking!
Taaienberg: difficulty 4/5, short but relatively steep and NASTY rough cobbles.
Berg Ten Houte: difficulty 3/5, cobbled section was manageable but the tarmac section went on for a long while after my legs were feeling it!

Oude Kwaremont: there were significantly less adoring fans than my last visited me to believe should be the case, nevertheless, the climb was sublime!
Difficulty 3/5, mostly due to the length... I stress "difficulty" with my ratings is subjective, and how hard it is for me to *complete* them...

From yesterday, Muur van Geraardsbergen. Difficult mostly due to the length, though some steep pinches! Cobbles mostly felt ok.

Getting over excited 😅 Had to stop before the gradient got too silly. Though I did have a 15% tarmac section up the Achteberg a few km later 🥵
