Particularly when their readership numbers are so low (even when they include the free ones at airports and hotels). BBC news has a larger viewership than all top 3 newspapers combined. Why do they let them define the agenda?

Celebrity worship has existed as long as society has. Gladiators were the sports celebrities of their time and then some say Sarah Bernhardt is the first "modern celebrity" in the 1800s. So I don't think it's going to go out of fashion any time soon.
