Movies/music/miscellaneous musings. Aiming to be as uninteresting and irrelevant here as I was at the other place.
In my seat for Train Dreams. 20 people for a Sunday night screening of a movie that’s been out for 2 weeks (or 3?) and is also on Netflix… fairly impressive, I think?

Wife is watching scenes from movie musicals on YouTube tonight. PHANTOM is even worse than I remember. Why Gerard Butler?

Rochester arthouse is playing The Beach Boys instead of their usual Sparks before the screening and it’s a 10000x improvement.

I am at a movie theater that I haven’t been to in twenty years and it looks *exactly* the same. It’s like stepping into a wormhole.

Spaceship Earth, Test Track, and the Ratatouille ride are all down at Epcot Center this morning.

Did you all know that Vince Gill is in the Eagles nowadays? I did not know this.

Watched FRANKENSTEIN last night and liked it far better than I thought I would.

Watched AFTER THE HUNT last week and hated it. It’s one of those movies where no one displays anything approaching normal human behavior, characters only motivated by making the screenwriter’s point at all times. Almost everyone miscast. (Michael Stahlberg still rocks though.)

This is where I watched BACK TO THE FUTURE and NAKED GUN 2 1/2 in original release. (Also, much later, THIRTEEN.)

Wife is watching the beginning of the FAME remake before going to bed. This cast is something: Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally, Bebe Neuwirth. (A Frasier/Lilith reunion!)

Whyyyyy would these people take the seat right next to me? Look at all the other choices!

The new episode of The Rest Is History, about Enoch Powell, is really good.

How do you all listen to Cris Collinsworth every week?

Does anyone know if NFL sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung is related to one-time MLB super-prospect Clint Hartung?

David Lynch's house/compound is up for sale. Honestly, $15 million seems like a pretty good deal for what you'd get.

About to leave for TIFF, now that it seems most everyone else has left. If you’re still there and see me, feel free to say hi. I’m nice! Really!

Kiss my grits. Just looked up all things ALICE-related the other day and had noted to myself that Polly Holliday was the last surviving member of the cast. R.I.P.

Don’t know how my parents ended up with this paper.

I did not enjoy this movie, save for: the level 1 fight (which was clever), some of the animation (especially towards the climax), and the mid-credits scene, which I laughed at more than THE NAKED GUN.
NE ZHA II is in one of the biggest screens in Rochester and there’s exactly 3 people in here.
