Back in 2021, PMG reported on the unseen games industry crunch taking place at outsourcing studios in SE Asia.

I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

So Unity recently decided that the tiny startup I dayjob for needed to upgrade to Industry at 5k/year/seat. We had no chance to contest it because they would have killed our only product. They even threatened people we worked with in the past with the same.

I was finally able to update my weird student game!
Shot-o-maton is a 1v1 local game, where you play using ... your facial expressions !
Using your webcam and some trained neural networks, the game is able to read your face to plunge you in a staring contest never experienced before !
