Have a good Thursday everyone.

Take care of each other as best you can.

“They couldn’t go home, back to normal life. That much was clear. Less clear was where they would go next, or how, or what would happen to the muppet-dog.”

My 7 on 7 mixtape for January — “Here Comes” — includes tracks by George Harrison, Tom Petty, and other greats.

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith is the first (and, so far, only) artist to be featured in my monthly mixtapes more than once. Her newest release, Thoughts on the Future, is gorgeous and deeply moving
"Today we have a guest mix from Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, an American composer from the Pacific Northwest now based in Los Angeles. We premiere [her new] EP here, and the rest of the mix is Smith’s hand-picked tracks that influenced the record."

“This is the land of pickup trucks and tractors, not municipal buses and Ubers.”

My December mixtape features works by Julianna Barwick, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Sigur Rós, and others. It’s a tranquil space distinct from the holiday cacophony.
7 on 7 — December 2025: Oh, Memory
It’s Friday, but feels more like a Sunday morning: quiet and slow, with a dash of dread. I looked through the window, at the pale sunlight on the hardware sign, then down at my phone, again at the …
