Portland Oregon seen from Pittock Mansion. Different angle than the typical view from Washington Park seen from the south side of town where the (ugly) Wells Fargo building is prominent; This is to the (less ugly, “Big Pink”) U.S. Bancorp side to the north.
The city continues to be not on fire.

Hell yeah Portland. Every town, every city needs to find an iconic fighter again fascism. Skateboard Kid in LA, or Scooter Guy in Chicago, or here, we have an inflatable frog. Without that personal identity, our flag, our banner for our city, the fight is much harder to unify ourselves.

The loco moco: an important part of local Hawaiian food. A hamburger steak with egg and brown gravy on rice, frequently with onions and mushrooms, and occasionally with some sort of vegetables, here with steamed bok choi. The red stuff is fried chili and oil.

Calmed even more. Umbrella Falls in the slopes of Mt Hood, first real hike on the mountain. I missed the smell of Mountain Hemlock; If you’re unfamiliar it a “earthy resinous smell reminiscent of pine and citrus” which hints at a positively erotic smell in the warm breezes coming up the hills. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Cat and cat; Yaya and Covette (the mother, to the right). My own mother’s cats. Don’t ask about the names; I don’t know why. She has other cat too, A and B. They’re coal black; their names are short for Anthracite and Bituminous. My parents and I find this funny; the cats don’t care about names.

My loved, long gone but always remembered cat Maochan will always be a lucky charm for me. Looked mean and evil but was absolutely sweet and didn’t know what “mean” meant.

This is in near where my mom lives. I started watching this tree for close to five years now. After the freeze and winter over 2023/2024 it died. Then it got hit by a car, leaving that foot and a half of stump. So it’s growing back now.. . 🌿🌱🌿✊🏻We need to learn from and remember this.

It’s Sunday. I’m going to spend a day on art and beauty, or my head will explode. The world will not end immediately. Tomorrow I can worry. Today I cannot worry. Go worry something for me. Look, plum blossoms.
