Developing Star Gambit (stargamb.it) and soon to be building on atproto.
More exciting is the potential atproto apps for file storage, knowledge bases, Discord-like communities, and much more.

I can't wait to ditch github forever the moment @tangled.sh supports private repos.

Hotter take: a bigger userbase might actually be a bad thing for now if more users = shorter runway.

Eyes on the prize, devs.
(It's not seeing X eclipsed by bluesky)

Hot take: between making bluesky better and solving private atproto data, the latter is more important and it is NOT close.

Is your code open-source? It'd be nice to start by forking a component that's already as far along as yours.

Hahaha I'm so tempted to upend my plans for the day to make this

Seems like Sean and I are thinking similarly. I'm imagining it looking like someone is scrolling through options, making the placeholder text fade out as it moves up while the next placeholder fades in from the bottom.

bsky.app/profile/sean...
O yea typewriter too much; maybe even just a sample name and only do a faded rotary transition on the tld or something. I've suggested this twice now in two places so I might just do a demo at this point 😅

I could see that. Care to share a video? I'm thinking the instant switch might be a little jarring, whereas an animated scroll effect on it might feel slick.

I like it. What if the hint text changed every second or so between a few popular providers? I like the idea of visually reinforcing "not just bluesky" at a glance.

2025 was not the first year I tried to switch to Linux on my desktop.
It is the first year where it stuck.
I still dual boot windows for games, but I'm probably never going back for programming.

As a layer that abstracts away complexity to make the programming UX better, they're APIs. Then again, I think everything is an API so maybe we should come up with something more specific.

your loss, maybe 😢

How does your hypothetical institution-free society perpetuate that freedom?

I presume some would attempt to consolidate power and build institutions. What would stop them?

As a technical demo, fun. Kudos to the dev.

As a practical tool, no thanks. The value of a programming language is in its formality and its lack of ambiguity. Natural language+LLMs can generate code, but I fail to see why you'd want that to *be* the code.

This choice may be reasonable, but understand that this connects trust in these stewards to trust in your organization.

At scale, an institution like the one you're proposing will be a magnet for suspicion, deserved or otherwise. Transparency and fairness are the keys to mitigating that.

This could be an excellent new way to engage locally. I'd love to see posts highlighted by a steward I trust. Post amplification is valuable, for better or worse.

How will these stewards be determined?

I am often impressed by LLM coding capability yet frequently baffled by how dumb they seem sometimes. Looks like Claude isn't ready to replace me quite yet.

When you spend a week tracking down a race condition bug and the code to blame is full of console.log("✅️ {SOMETHING} worked!") and console.log("❌️ Error: ...")
November 30, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Trust is... tricky. Rather than trying to solve it specifically for package dependencies, we'd be better off building infrastructure for the general case and applying it here.

Wait woah I just realized I don't follow @schlage.town. I've fixed that, but it's really surprising that For You surfaced this without that direct link. Maybe it's because I follow 30+ people that follow him?
