This is great, but where are the other artists with mass appeal? Where's the Live Aid of this generation? Band together, on stage, for a massive show of unity for good. I know Bruce S, Billie E and Jack White have been expressive, but haven't heard much about others.

Count me sour on corp tech's race to be at the top of the AI food chain while disregarding the myriad of destructive baggage that comes with. Given its come at a time when half of humanity is enthused with fascism, I cannot help but think we're f*cked. My idea, stay vigilant and vocal.

Great. While not eager to rain on a parade, prez thinskin seems more like the irritating byproduct of a much larger orchestrated effort with endlessly deep pockets. The base needs to sour on feudal surfdom in the service of tech billionaires before I can get too excited.

Perhaps only because the agit-prop machinery hasn't yet made full-throated efforts to paint him with a kinder brush? My optimism is frequently tested by the state of media/information (incl MF'ing AI), and the continual efforts by magats to control more and more of it.

One of the great joys of my life had been frequent pick-up soccer/futbol in cities around the US, meeting and playing with people from all over the world. The 'beautiful game' I love feels so sullied by this, but I'd hate to punish the players for the evil misdeeds of leadership.

IMO by any reasonable measure, the award isn't deserved. Giving it anyway seems like more sports-washing by FIFA, and has the whiff of 'obeying in advance', signaling tolerance for malevolent authoritarianism, and setting the stage for another Italy 1934 WC, used by Mussolini to promote fascism.
