Lover of the arts, still, a believer in humanity and science; master of nothing. Going up river with my son now firmly at the bow, my brother always at the sterrn, and me, senses fully awake tucked in the middle, taking in all the beauty.
When I was 16 (68 now) I spent one month on Manitoulin Island at West Bay. I remember being spellbound by how clear the water was in Georgian Bay. It is here that I discovered the famous indigenous artist, Blake Debassige and had me returning every summer in my 20s to camp. Such a magical place.

Today I made the mistake of watching PBS news. Feeling overwhelmed by how terribly sick, corrupt, vulgar and cruel America has become in such a short time. America's democracy is on life support. I wanted, silly me, for an American to tell me everything will be alright. I'm afraid it will not.

Watching Ken Burns documentary on the American Revolution on the now tyrant defunded PBS while having watched his equally compelling documentary on the civil war I'm left to wonder if in present day America the American people have the will to fight against tyranny for their liberty.

@docnaismith.bsky.social Hi the

I hope you were able to catch the #Raptors game vs Cleveland tonight. I remember the night when #ScottieBarnes was drafted and his joy was so genuine and infectious. Well, tonight Scottie Barnes arrived; the player I knew he could be. All NBA tonight.

Cheers to you.

Could somebody at #Bluesky please get rid of the daily onslaught of sex bots who follow me please?

Go American cruelty go! Your on a roll! Sure you'll be pleased to send them back to starvation and genocide. Wouldn't expect anything other than this from you at this point. Yah gotta love that brand of Christianity you worship, especially your devil incarnate in the garish, gold plated White House.

As a 68 year old Canadian male I watched men's sports for most of my life, but now aside from the NBA I watch the WNBA a lot, Canada's national woman's rugby, rugby 7s, soccer, swimming teams and the most exciting player for me in all sports is Caitlin Clark hands down. Go ladies!

That's bloomen great! You have to fight fire with fire. I used to think "when they go low we go hi," but you don't bring a knife to a gun fight. A rather nasty analogy, but the dark force plays for keeps. Good for California, Thanks for the update. With you from the great white north.

Sorry for coming across so strongly. Sometimes my anger gets the best of me. I canvased with my cousin in North Caroline for Harris. Saw them as they came to visit in Ottawa, Canada. Just retired she said... "When I get home I'm joining the resistance." Despite my angst, believe me... I am with YOU.

Sports can be so unforgiving. Miracle plays, a game of inches; fairytale endings. Can't think of another sport that does it as well as baseball. To the Toronto #BlueJays, thank you for a wonderful season, for doing Canada proud and representing our great country.

Just had my cousin up from America to my home in Canada. I loved travelling to the United States each year to visit them. Felt welcomed there. Won't be going back for some time I imagine. These photos by Alex Kent and Doug Mills for the New York Times speak volumes as to how far America has fallen.

A hero comes face to face with evil once again. Surely the 47th President of the United States is a Russian asset. Does anyone have any idea what America stands for anymore?

I’m 68. I’ve been through a lot. For the first time in my adult life I feel well, normal. I’m a pastel artist, yet, haven’t drawn since I closed my studio in 1995. Art is a form of resistance. You inspire me. It is time to live, time to paint and to write. Be well! Fall from my window.

Yup! Hope you are well. Happy to see you in my timeline. Hope you are enjoying your artistic journey. be well. Stay bright.

Today in Ottawa, Canada we are now holding our second "NO Tyrants Day" in solidarity with our neighbouring American brothers and sisters. And while we may groan, hold our noses, get pissed of at and grumble about your lunatics make no doubt about it... we support you! Go America go! #NoKings

At my advancing age I'm still unapologetically a hopeless romantic with my own rom-com section of DVDs. Today with the sad passing of a beloved actress, Diane Keaton I am reminded of her many wonderful films from my first, "Annie Hall" in 1977 to "Something's Gotta Give" and many more... Sad now.

Seriously cool Arthur. We're fortunate. I remember much later on listening to "Dark Star" and being dumbfounded. Still far ahead of his time, so imaginative and creative. When he passed I felt a deep loss. He reminded me of my art, my love of it and the challenges of being an artist. Cheers to you.

You're going to Japan? Wow! I lived in Tokyo for 17 years and have a beautiful Japanese/Canadian son. I was blessed. Enjoy yourself. Truth is I haven't watched a game for some time now. I have issues with stress from a past trauma and I have to just be chill. Take care and have a safe trip. Cheers.

I appreciate this wonderful painting and am reminded of Canada's Group of Seven artist J.E.H. MacDonald and his painting, "The Tangled Garden" painted in 1916.

A sense of loss. We're here and we're gone. Reminded my time is coming sooner than later. Grateful to have shared space with Robert Redford. Many memorable movies. In 1972 I was 15; saw Jeremiah Johnson. Looking back, like many men of my age we long for simpler times in natural, open spaces. RIP.

Okay, I'm calling it. Fever win. It's 90-60 Fever. Game almost over. I could be wrong, but has any other #WNBA franchise fased so many hurdles? A crazy, crazy ride this season. Proud of my team for showing so much resiliencey and building such a great culture. "Together!"

Oh boy... I have no idea of what you and your fellow Ukranians are going through other than by using my imagination and finding myself in your shoes. I'm grateful for you for being a big part of what connects me with Ukraine. My heart is with you and your family with big LOVE from Canada.

I understand, but please hang in there. Don’t let the bastards get you down. Seek out beauty and dear friends when you need them and find the strength to turn off the negativity, the noise, the MATRIX and be well… a friend from Canada. There is solitude waiting for you.
