FWIW, after 2+ decades in 🇬🇧 diplomacy my settled view is that BBCWS is *the* (not *a*) vital element of British soft power and the continued attacks on its funding are nothing short of barbaric and self defeating.

Ghost.io is a B Corp and a better choice than Substack for non-profits. The social networking side of it isn’t as well developed as Substack, but some may say that’s an advantage!
Ghost: The best open source blog & newsletter platform
Beautiful, modern publishing with email newsletters and paid subscriptions built-in. Used by Platformer, 404Media, Lever News, Tangle, The Browser, and thousands more.

My nasi goreng (fried rice) habit relies on the supply of day-old cooked rice. But in Indonesia that’s why nasi goreng is often eaten for breakfast - because cold rice from night before must be eaten within 12 hours or so. The rest is given to livestock (or to very unimpressed cats).

It’s the tech companies that matter to US service export economy. Sensible UK & EU companies will already be looking to reduce reliance on US tech as risk reduction strategy. There are good EU alternatives to meet needs of most companies.
